Zippo 's 2022 Collector's Edition proudly commemorates 90 years since a spark of genius set a new global standard. Inspired by the cumbersomeness and impracticality of a friend's lighter, founder George G. Blaisdell set to work creating an easy-to-use, windproof alternative. 90 years later, we proudly celebrate the ingenuity of the original Zippo lighter with an equally timeless keepsake.
Every technique has been used for this year's collector's item. The classic windproof lighter is given a thick-walled Armor® construction, decorated for the first time with a combination of 360 MultiCut, 3D Deep Carve, Lustre Etch and Laser Engrave, and to commemorate this milestone, it is equipped with an all-new epoxy insert with red glitter for the first time. The diamond pattern on the case is a reminder of the popular 90th anniversary gift and also indicates the exclusivity of this piece.
The 2022 Collector's Edition comes in three editions - for North and South America with a Black Ice finish, for Europe with a polished chrome finish and for Asia with a polished brass finish. Each lighter is sequentially numbered, includes a label insert, is stamped with an exclusive anniversary stamp on the bottom and comes in a luxurious gift box.
